Citrus Gin Cocktail Recipe + Happy Hour Hosting Guide
This blog post is just another excuse to host a happy hour gathering with friends and family. I've put together my gin with citrus cocktail recipe which is simple to make but full of sweet flavor.
Gin is one of those alcohols where you definitely donβt want to skimp on quality. A cheap gin will have poor texture and taste like rubbing alcohol, yuck!
For any boozy gin beverage I always choose Prairie Organic Spirits because of their high quality extra smooth and full-bodied gin. Prairie gin also has notes of citrus (which makes it perfect for this citrus cocktail recipe!).

Happy Hour Hosting Guide
While itβs not difficult to plan the perfect happy hour gathering, there are a few elements you need to make your guests feel the love.
The Essentials for a Successful Cocktail Party:
Proper Glassware for Cocktails, Wine and Beer - The first thing youβll guests will notice is their drinks being served in awkward cups. Keep scrolling to see my shopping guide to stocking your home bar.
Always Serve Eats - You definitely donβt want your guests getting too tipsy, and drinking alcohol on an empty stomach can be a recipe for disaster.
Put Out a Charcuterie Board for Your Guests - cheese, meats and green olives pair well with gin cocktails. See my guide to building the perfect charcuterie board.
Non-Alcoholic Drink Options - There are many reasons why someone would like to opt for a booze-free beverage. Make sure to offer something like juice, sparkling water, or even mocktails.
Gin OβClock - Thereβs always the question of what time to plan your happy hour. Generally speaking, happy hour is usually between 4:30pm - 7pm. The general rule of serving drinks is that you either need to time it before or after dinner. If you are serving a sit-down dinner, then you can spill over into 8pm.
Set the Ambiance - Fresh flowers really help brighten up a room and have a way of putting your guests at ease. Donβt forget to play upbeat music in the background, keep the drinks and food flowing and enjoy the happy times!
