Holiday Shopping at Maker's Mart in Sacramento
Building Community in Sacramento By Supporting Local Artisans
Itβs that joyful time of year, filled with love and cheer! We spent this weekend visiting the Makerβs Mart artisan holiday fair in Sacramento. The annual event was hosted inside The Mill on Broadwayβs rustic chic The Crate Building. As you can see from my photos, all attendees gathered under twinkling lights and beautiful floral art installations by Oak + Ash. After a few laps around the venue, guests got to hang with crafted drinks in the beautifully designed lounge by Design Alchemy.
The 2019 Makerβs Mart was comprised of over seventy makers, creators, artists, and entrepreneurs. The vibe inside the market was so warm and cozy, with an incredible turn out of attendees (especially considering the rainy weather). It just goes to show that the Sacramento community is filled with diehard fans of handmade goodness!
The Ultimate Shopping List for Sacramento Makers
Christmas comes once a year, but you can support local Sacramento arts and makers anytime with these shopping links. I hand selected my favorites shops from Makerβs Mart (plus a few extra Sacramento makers). These small business gems really have an awesome aesthetic and style. Trust me, youβll want to buy everything!
statement & Dainty jewelry
One of the easiest ways to add a touch of razzle-dazzle to any outfit is with a piece of statement jewelry. Shop baubles and enamel pins from these sweet makers.
Apothecary Goods & Natural Beauty

Clean beauty is all the rage these days, and thereβs no better way to support the trend than shopping small business entrepreneurs who are hard at work making products youβll love.
Modern Mama & Baby Products
As a mama myself, I can tell you that thereβs no greater joy than shopping for adorable clothes and gifts for little ones. These Sacramento shops have the cutest collections of everything youβll need for your little peanut.
Vintage Clothing & Trinkets
These vintage shops are filled with relics and artifacts from decades ago, but are looking very shiny and new to us now!
Paper Goods
Ditch the digital and revitalize the lost art of paper goods. Shop for cards and prints handmade by these crafters.
Home Decor & Art
Adorn the walls and shelves of your home with carefully crated mercantile goods from Sacramento makers.
Artisan Foods & beverages featured at makerβs Mart
These local vendors served up some awesome crafted drinks and sweets to attendees. I graduated from Chico State and I especially love Chico Chai, hands down the best chai ever!
We had a blast hanging at the Gig booth, taking fun family photos and loading up on swag. If you are not familiar, GIG Car Share is a new all electric car sharing service by AAA Northern California. Our favorite electric car share company serves both the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento. Gig cars are tailor-made for drivers who are looking for eco + budget-friendly car rentals. When youβre driving with Gig, your fuel, insurance, and parking (within the HomeZone) are included with your rental. So you can feel free to explore to your hearts content!
This past summer we took an EV road trip from Sacramento to Carmel-by-the-Sea, and of course we documented our journey on the blog. Check it out!
