Sneak Peek at the Christmas Prime Rib Dinner from Raley’s
We’ve just wrapped up Thanksgiving and feeling like stuffed turkeys, but we’re still anxiously awaiting our next big holiday meal… Christmas dinner!
There’s a good chance you spent the week of Thanksgiving running around the grocery store picking up ingredients, followed by long hours laboring in the kitchen. Give yourself a break from all the frantic shopping and cooking with a premade holiday meal from Raley’s.
We were lucky enough to get an early preview of Raley’s Prime Rib Christmas dinner. We had no problems being taste testers of this family sized feast!
The idea behind the Raley’s premade holiday dinners is that you get to enjoy the comforts of a wholesome and traditional cooked meal without the stress of having to make everything yourself. Taking all the prepping and cooking off your plate leaves you more time to enjoy the company of loved ones and merriments of the Christmas season.
A Look Inside the Raley’s Christmas Dinner Box
Picking up our meal from Raley’s was an extremely simple and seamless process. I drove down to our local Raley’s in Sacramento (literally a 10 minute drive) and picked up the pre-packed box, along with other groceries we needed for the week. Talk about convenience!
Inside the box, our entrees were neatly organized in oven-proof containers, complete with heating and serving instructions. The serving portions are fairly large, so you’ll have plenty of food leftover to enjoy throughout the week.
The Raley’s Prime Dinner comes with:
A cooked large Prime Rib.
Scalloped Potatoes - Layers of scalloped potatoes in a five cheese sauce topped with parmesan, swiss and gruyere cheese.
Honey Coasted Carrots - Coated with honey, butter and orange peel zest.
Baby Broccoli - Garnished with pine nuts, garlic and herb butter.
Sweet Potatoes Gratin - Cubed sweet potatoes with chopped pecans, dried cranberries and sweetened mixed grains.
All five of these hearty dishes come together in the prime rib dinner kit for the price of $89.99, and it feeds 5-6 people. Such a great value, especially when you factor in all the convenience of not having to shop for ingredients and cook the meal from scratch!
Pro Holiday Hosting tips
Allow about 2.5 hours for heating and preparation. I prefer the slower oven method to get that final touch golden brown crispiness which really makes your meal feel homemade. Make sure you have aluminum foil on hand for oven heating.
To keep the holiday vibes going strong, set your table with a festive tablescape and flatware. Transfer the entrees into your own serving dishes for a personal touch. The meal serves well with wine, sparkling water or even a holiday punch. I also recommend having extra butter, salt and pepper available for serving to guests.
Also, don’t forget dessert! Pie and English trifle are my own personal favorite holiday desserts. We also serve hot chocolate with marshmallows and coffee, or a boozy nightcap drink.
