The Most Instagrammable Coffee Shops in Sacramento
When we moved to Sacramento I was very pleasantly surprised to find a thriving coffee house scene. Not only are these java joints serving very high quality crafted coffee beverages, theyβve also done their due diligence to prove a welcoming environment to sip and enjoy.
When Iβm building a guide made for Instagrammers, Iβm looking for establishments that have both modern and trendy aesthetics, along with ideal photography lighting conditions. Youβll find many spots in and around Sacramento in this guide, so thereβs definitely something for everyone.
You can hover over each image in this blog post to see where the image was taken and a little insight into the coffee shop.
Photo-Worthy Sacramento Coffee Shops
Temple Coffee Roasters
Of all the local coffee shop chains in Sacramento, Temple is probably the most photographed and well-known. They have 6 locations in Sacramento and one coffee shop in Davis. For Instagram photos the best locations are 22nd & K Street in Midtown and 9th St in Downtown.
Goodside Coffee
Goodside is a new coffee spot that opened up more recently in the trendy neighborhood of Mansion Flats. The interior is very bright and full of light, great for photography. And they have a very large wall mural which is totally Insta-worthy. I have photos in this blog post from Goodside, hover over the image for the description.
Insight Coffee Roasters
I would call Insight Coffee as one of the OGs in Sacramento. Their coffee shop located at the corner of 8th & S Streets is very spacious inside with a lot of windows for natural light. The vibe is a bit rustic and industrial, and they serve a wide away of drinks. On Instagram Iβve seen lavender latte art with edible flowers!
Station 38 Coffee
This modest coffee shop is located on J Street in East Sacramento. Instagrammers love their açaà bowls, rose latte (with real rose petals), waffle stacks, creative latte art and the rustic-chic brick exterior.
The Mill
Instagrammers love the minimalist and elevated curated style of The Mill Coffee Shop. From the natural and modern interiors to the delicate latte art, they are always camera ready. Their Midtown Cafe is located on I Street, and the East Sacramento location is on Elvas Ave.
Pachamama Coffee
If you like to photograph pops of bright color, the two Pachamama Coffee shops have bright and airy interiors with turquoise blue accents. Their latte art is pretty as a picture too! Youβll find them on 20th Street in Midtown and J Street in East Sacramento.
Camellia Coffee Roasters
Fans of the color pink rejoice! At the beginning of this blog post youβll see two photos of the pink tiles inside the Midtown Camellia Coffee Shop. Their cafe is located in the very trendy βR Districtβ and if you walk around the streets youβll find many murals and cute corners to photograph.
Naked Coffee
Naked Coffee has 4 locations around Sacramento including Midtown, Downtown, and East Sacramento. If Iβm being honest, their interiors arenβt my top pick for Instagram photos. But a skilled photographer can find some cute shots, plus they do have fun latte art!
The Weatherstone
This building was originally an old horse barn and has been restored into an industrial-chic coffee house. Youβll find exposed brick, a full menu with eats, outdoor seating and latte art. The Weatherstone is one of the Old Soul Co. coffee house locations.
The Alley
This Midtown coffee shop was once a storage warehouse and has since been renovated into an industrial gathering hub. My favorite spot to photograph here is the outdoor seating at the front entrance. The Alley is also one of the Old Soul Co. coffee house locations.
40 Acres in Oak Park
Oak Park in Sacramento is a great place to explore on-foot for photo inspiration. The Old Soul Co. 40 Acres is centrally located in Oak Park for a coffee break and they have latte art and fresh eats.
555 Capitol Mall
This is the newest Old Soul Co. coffee house and probably my favorite of the four. It feels the most modern and I especially love their dine-in coffee cups. Located near DOCO, the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel and many other photo-worthy spots in that area.
Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters
All 3 of the Chocolate Fish Coffee Shops are very cute and worth a visit for Instagrammers. My favorite is the Land Park / Curtis Park Cafe location, itβs so modern and filled with light. It has pops of bright blue color and the best tile designs.
Insta-Worthy Coffee Shops Near Sacramento
Morgan's Mill in Woodland
Woodland is a small town that I havenβt yet had the pleasure to explore much. Morganβs Mill Coffee House is a rustic modern hipster hub located in the old Globe Rice Mill building. Their latte art is lovely and their specialty waffles are calling your name.
Fourscore Coffee House in Roseville
Iβve seen several Sacramento bloggers make the journey to Roseville to frequent this popular coffee shop. Youβll find rustic chic interiors with exposed brick, latte art and cool kids hanging out.
Kingdom Coffee Roasters in Folsom
The best way to describe the interiors at Kingdom are minimalist and industrial. It has very masculine vibes, reminds me of a dudeβs bachelor pad. They do make pretty latte art and serve up food.
Pause Coffee + House in Fair Oaks
Yet another chain with modern and rustic coffee house aesthetic (starting to see a trend here lol). They have two locations, one in Fair Oaks and another in Rocklin. The Pause Coffee Instagram account is nicely curated, youβll find some good inspo.
Pour Choice in Auburn
I just recently took a girls trip to Auburn and we spent the afternoon grabbing coffee and lunch at The Pour Choice. Many of the photos in this blog post are from our visit. I loved the matte white color palette, it was very bright and clean. We ordered a salad and avocado toasts, they were very camera ready!
Instagrammable Restaurants in Sacramento
Beast + Bounty
The team at Beast + Bounty did an incredible job with the decor and ambiance inside their restaurant. Itβs so bright, fresh and modern. They just opened their doors in the summer of 2018 after a lot of built-up anticipation. The color palette includes rose gold accents, splashes millennial-pink and warm neutral tones. Beast + Bounty is located in the new trendy development of Ice Blocks in the R District.
Canon
Canon is a staple brunch spot in East Sacramento, and a favorite spot for the cool kids. They are a bit more upscale and sophisticated, but they do have a whimsical and colorful mural on a large wall in their parking lot.
Saigon Alley Kitchen + Bar
This new hot spot is very fresh to the scene, they just opened their doors in early 2020. The ambiance is very light and airy, and their food and drinks are a modern twist on Vietnamese food. Pretty much everything inside the restaurant is Insta-worthy!
OBOβ Italian Table & Bar
This Italian restaurant has a wonderful modern aesthetic, high-ceilings, adorable tile designs and is filled with light. Their food and cocktails are extra pretty too!
Hawks Public House

Cafeteria 15L
Another very popular gathering place for millennials in Sacramento is Cafeteria 15L in Midtown. This restaurant is very large and has all kinds of corners to explore. You can see lots of photos of the food and inside the restaurant in Sacramento Brunch Guide and my Sacramento Foodie Guide.
